What we are ABout
We strive to offer you the best baby gifts at the best price possible and give you the absolute best customer service. Every customer is important to us and we hope you will consider us your "go to" online store for baby gifts. Should a problem occur with your order, please contact us so we can try in every way to fix the problem. We strive for a happy shopping experience with all our customers here at The Polka Dot Store & thank you for your business.

OUT OF STOCK ITEMS
Occasionally, items become out of stock before we can update the website. If you order an item and it is temporarily out of stock, we will email you with this information and ask if you would like to select another item, want a refund, or want to wait until the item can be reordered and gotten back in stock. Please make sure your email address is correct when you place your order.

Certain Christening gowns, daygowns, and bonnets are custom made at time of order so please allow 2-3 weeks to ship. If you need your item sooner, please email us letting us know the date you need your item. We will do our best to meet your needs.
Personalized or monogrammed items will ship in 3 -7 business days. Non-personalized items typically ship in 1-2 business days.
Our products ship USPS Priority Mail and we charge a flat rate of $8.50. If your order, before shipping, totals over $125.00, please use our coupon code FREESHIP125 for free shipping.
All orders are packaged in a cello bag, tied with raffia ribbon, and a gift card is attached. Your order will be gift giving ready with you receive it.
Orders can be shipped to the gift recipient. We will gladly hand write a gift message for you on the gift card. You can leave your gift message at check-out. If you know this is a gift, pricing will not be included on the packing slip.
International shipping: We will gladly ship internationally but we charge a handling fee of $10.00 and shipping rates start at $39.95 for Priority Mail. Please contact us at email@example.com. before placing your order for shipping and handling information. Once you have placed your order, you will be emailed a separate shipping invoice via Paypal.
Shipping to Canada starts at $23.70 for a padded flat rate envelope. If you order will not ship in a padded flat rate envelope, you will be charged the Priority International rate determined by weight and box dimension. A separate shipping invoice via Paypal will be emailed to the address you provided.
Monogramming and personalization is free on most items. We also do not inflate our prices to cover the cost of monogramming. We offer free monogramming on most items to help you make your gift extra special and because we value your business. Please understand if we charge a monogram fee for sale items or items difficult to monogram.
Monogrammed (personalized) items are not returnable unless it is our mistake. Names will be stitched exactly as you type them. In other words, if you type the name in all caps, the name will be stitched in all caps. Monograms are stitched in the following order, FIRST NAME INITIAL, LAST NAME INITIAL, MIDDLE NAME INITIAL with the middle (last name initial) letter larger and in the center.
Thread colors can vary by monitors. The thread colors in the pictures are as true as possible. If you are unsure of a color, you can leave us a note at check-out telling us to match the tread to a color in the product and we will match as closely as possible. If you are still unsure about a thread color choice, you can email us and ask our advice.
We have new coral thread colors that are not pictured. Please notify us at checkout if you want us to use the color coral.
I take your privacy seriously and will not use your information to contact you unless it is about your order. STRIPE handles all your financial information. I do not see your credit card numbers. The only information I see is your mailing and shipping address. Etsy collects your information. If I need to send you an invoice for additions items you request, WITH YOUR PERMISSION, I will send you an invoice through Paypal. In order to print labels for your order, your shipping information is shared with SHIP STATION AND USPS.
Information I Collect
To fulfill your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorized Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order , for example), if you contact me directly.
Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It
I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list;
if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as 1) providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
Shipstation, Stripe and USPS. I share information with Shipstation, USPS, and Stripe as necessary to provide you my services.
Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
Business transfers. If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.
Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU
I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.
If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:
Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
